First Lady Patricia “Trish” Stevens is a native of Lake Charles, Louisiana and the youngest of four daughters born to the late Mr. Oliver Johnson and Mrs. Lillie M. Johnson. She was baptized as a child at the Christian Baptist Church in Lake Charles by the late Rev. W.C. Clark. She is currently employed as an Administrative Assistant with the State of Louisiana Office of Public Health and presently has 29 years of state service.
First Lady Stevens’ ministry experience began serving nineteen years in various areas of ministry at the Zion Tabernacle Baptist Church formerly pastored by her husband. She is currently a member of the New Covenant Faith Baptist Church, under the leadership of her husband, Pastor Jimmy R. Stevens. She has always taken an active role in the ministry of her church serving in various capacities such as:
· Instructor for the New Membership Orientation Class
· Serves as Ministry Leader for the Women’s Ministry of New Covenant Faith (Covenant Sisters)
· Co-Director of Jimmy Stevens Ministries
· Board of Directors for Lake Charles Bible College
Other Accomplishments include:|
· Chosen as one of six First Ladies to be honored at the 2007 Black Heritage Festival Gospel Brunch for dedication and service to God, family, church, and her community.
· Pastor and Mrs. Stevens served as Classroom Partners in Education to Mrs. Malinda Stevens 4th grade class at Pearl Watson Elementary School 2006-2007
